Join us to meet with Katie Steen, Open Education Fellow for SPARC (the Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition). Katie will discuss how high textbook costs create a barrier to student success, and how open textbooks can be part of the solution. We’ll have opportunities to explore and discuss strategies for L&IT engaging in this issue and moving the open textbook movement forward on campus.
Immediately following, we are having a follow-up discussion with Katie Steen about the steps Bucknell can take on our campus to ensure that students have equal access to materials and resources to improve their chances at academic achievement.
