The University of California, Merced is a public research university and the newest of the University of California system’s 10 campuses. Situated near Yosemite National Park, the campus expands access to the UC system for students throughout the state, with a special mission to increase college-going rates among students in the San Joaquin Valley.
In 2018, the UC Merced Library and the Center for Engaged Teaching and Learning launched the Zero-Cost Course Materials mini-grant initiative as a 3-year pilot program to support the adoption of Open Educational Resources and use of UC Merced Library licensed electronic resources.
