Overview

Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMUCC) enrolls more than 12,000 students and is part of The Texas A&M University System. TAMUCC offers more than 80 degree programs, in face-to-face settings and online, including several doctoral degrees. At the moment, TAMUCC is just beginning to investigate open educational resources. As a first step, the Library established a task force comprised of classroom faculty, staff from key units such as the Office of Distance Education and Learning Technologies and the Center for Faculty Excellence and representatives from student government to work together in a cross-campus partnership. This task force has evolved into the Affordable Learning Tools Committee, an official university committee, which will begin work in Fall 2020. Current projects include a campus-wide assessment of OER usage in the classroom and outreach to Faculty Senate and the Student Government Association.
