Overview
Johnson & Wales University (JWU) began adopting OER in high impact courses, such as Biology, in 2015. The efforts to transform more courses to OER gained momentum with JWU's College of Online Education (COE) shortly thereafter. COE understands the challenges of delivering content online and has mitigated textbook costs for students by adopting OER in multiple courses. The commitment to investigating OER to support the curriculum is fully supported by the administration, faculty, librarians, and instructional designers, and soon JWU will be expanding to develop and host our own OER through Pressbooks.edu.
